Jo provided a workshop for her high school alumni on job search tips on the morning of one of our class reunions. The discussions were lively as each person in attendance were at different crossroads. She returned six weeks later and hosted a second, more in-depth and individualized workshop. Following her advice led to my being the successful candidate at my current job, after having been in the job search for over a year. During my search I also experienced some “ageism” during interviews and she had great advice on how overcome that. What I remember of her advice, when faced with ageism, instead of reacting was to: demonstrate humility and a collaborative approach, try to connect with my interviewer with genuine warmth and to show my ability to work well with diverse groups of people. Jo’s recruiting expertise was reversed for me, and the insights she provided helped me understand how to leverage my skills and experience into viable candidacy for jobs.

I was present for a keynote address that she delivered. She spoke with authority arising from research and experience. Her style was fun and engaging, she energized the audience and held our attention, even though it was after 8:00 PM. I left with several actionable take-aways.

Recently, I attended a keynote seminar that Jo delivered. I found her comments helpful and personally actionable. Jo provided me with excellent information and techniques to use during an interview that I was nervously preparing for. Additionally, she meets with job seekers as she is available to provide career coaching. Jo brings a recruiter's perspective and assists people with reverse engineering their job search process. Jo is continually rated as one of our finest speakers and has such a servant's heart. Her unique background and willingness to always go the extra mile to help others is truly amazing. I would highly recommend her as a speaker, a lecturer or for any senior HR role in a company looking for a superstar.
